Description
This is a full resolution, high profile x264 DVD rip of The Outer Limits TOS (The Original Series) - Season 1
------------------------------------- THE OUTER LIMITS TOS 1963 - SEASON 1 ------------------------------------- Episodes 1-32 Source: DVD Rip Constant Quality Rate Factor(CRF) of 20 VIDEO: Container: MKV Codec: x264 Resolution: 720 x 480 (4:3) fps: 23.976 VIDEO FILTERS: Denoiser: Weak AUDIO: (untouched from DVDs) Format: English AC3 2.0 Bitrate: 192 Kbps SUBTITLES: External Subrip srt. Closed Captioning ripped from DVDs and converted to non-closed captioning. Please seed when you are done. It seems a good rule of thumb is to upload at least as much as you've downloaded (1 to 1 ratio)...thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CRF encoding maintains a constant quality for all encoded videos. It adjusts the file size/bit-rate as needed (every video is different!) to maintain the desired quality. You may see a wide range of file sizes...however all have a consistent high quality "CRF"...file sizes never too little and never too big...sized just right to maintain a constant high quality across the board. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Always: Untouched ac3 or dts audio, full resolution video, high-profile x264 settings, Larger files (only) when needed. Using proprietary AC3 audio instead of AAC makes it more difficult to play via Google Chromecast. Since the audio is MONO, I also don't see the point of using AC3. Of course, the larger than necessary video file size may mean that it won't play at all via wifi-based Chromecast.
I wish that someone would upload the complete Outer Limits TOS with x264 video and AAC audio codecs at a more reasonable file size. I would think that these ffmpeg parameters would be way more than adequate for old black and white TV series:
-c:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 22 -maxrate 800k -bufsize 128k
