Al tempo dei vichinghi, tra i fiordi della Norvegia risale un antico relitto. Dalla nave fuggono due alieni, un guerriero di nome Kainan (Jim Caviezel) e un mostro marino conosciuto come Moorwen.
Scappati nelle fredde terre della Scandinavia, Kainan si mette alla ricerca della creatura, mentre il mostro si abitua agli abissi del Nord Europa.
Quando Kainan giunge in un villaggio vichingo e lo trova distrutto, si accorda con i pochi sopravvissuti per unire tutti i popoli del Nord così da uccidere nel più breve tempo possibile la temibile creatura.
Il tempo è comunque breve, la tecnologia di Kainan e la conoscenza territoriale dei vichinghi serviranno a braccare il mostro.
