P-Funk All Stars live at the Beverly Theatre

George Clinton (born July 22, 1940) is an American musician and the principal architect of P-Funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and was a solo funk artist as of 1981. He has been hailed as "The Prime Minister of Funk" as the leader of Parliament, as well as "The King of Interplanetary Funksmanship". He also has a B.A. in mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In 1973 Maceo returned to James Brown's band the J.B.'s. In 1975 Maceo and some of Brown's band members, including Fred Wesley, left to join George Clinton's Parliament.
