Paediatric Handbook - 9E (2015) [PDF] [UnitedVRG] (Size: 3.74 MB)
DescriptionPaediatric Handbook (Coursesmart) 9E by Amanda Gwee (Editor), Romi Rimer (Editor), Michael Marks (Editor) True PDF, Bookmarked and Indexed An Original VRG Release Paperback: 544 pages Publisher: Wiley-Blackwell; 9th Edition edition (14 Aug. 2015) Language: English ISBN-10: 1118777484 ISBN-13: 978-1118777480 This is a superb text and reference for any student of paediatric medicine - whether doctor, nurse or allied health professional. Yes, it is an Australian book, but bearing in mind that British-trained doctors, nurses and AHPs work in Oz, and Aussie doctors, nurses and AHPs work here in the UK, you know that pretty much everything is going to be transferable, apart from any oddities in the processes of the differing health services. The medical information is universal - and it is absolutely jam-packed into this little book. The writing is tiny! But what that means is that it is very comprehensive. And the contributors are experts in their field. There are 29 chapters in the book. It is not divided up into sections, it just goes for it. The subjects covered are: Medical emergencies, Surgical emergencies, Pain management, Procedures, Poisoning and envenomation (this is Australia!), Cardiac conditions, Respiratory conditions, Gastrointestinal conditions, Fluids and nutrition, Genitourinary conditions, Neurologic conditions, Haematologic conditions and oncology, The endocrine system, Growth and Puberty, Bones and joints, Head and neck conditions, Dermatologic conditions, Infectious diseases and immunisation, Allergy and immunology, Genetics and metabolics, Neonatal conditions, Adolescent health, Child development and disability, Sleep problems, Behaviour and mental health, Prescribing for children, Immigrant health, The death of a child, Forensic medicine. Within each chapter is an amazing amount of in-depth, comprehensive detail on diagnosis and treatment, supported by diagrams, tables and lists. It is brilliant. It really is an excellent resource for any student or new graduate. PLEASE COMMENT AND VOTE Sharing Widget |
