Description

The Red Sonja we have come to know was created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith, who first premiered her in Conan the Barbarian Nr.23 (February 1973).

Soon she appeared in back up features like her origin story in Kull and the Barbarians Nr.3 (September 1975) by Roy Thomas, Doug Moench and Howard Chaykin, and was later redrawn by Dick Giordano and Terry Austin for The Savage Sword of Conan Nr. 78 and off and on in Conan the Barbarian.

After this Red Sonja started getting her own comics, first in Marvel Feature, then just Red Sonja.
