Black Maps (John March #1)

Years after the personal tragedy that scarred his life, Private Investigator John March lives a twilight existence in Manhattan. He is tough and ruthlessly efficient in his professional life, yet introspective and vulnerable when it comes to his relationships with women. And he struggles daily to maintain a tenuous armed truce with his memories. March's latest case threatens to shatter that brittle peace: his client is a banker who is being blackmailed, and the man's beautiful wife is in the firing line. March's prime suspect is Gerard Nassouli, a monstrous manipulator who vanished years ago. Is Nassouli still a fugitive, or has the law-or one of his many enemies-finally caught up with him? Did he die, or was the vanishing act just one more devilish ploy? Whoever is behind the blackmail is not afraid of killing and March is going to risk everything, including a fragile new happiness as he plunges into a
feverish world of greed, corruption and murder. Praise for Black Maps:'He knows where the bodies are buried and he knows how to write' Jonathan Kellerman'Stylish and fast-moving- gripping ' Daily Telegraph 'An excellent 21st century thriller' Independent'Spiegelman's first novel pitches from one taut, suspenseful scene to
another- Nothing about this stylish, literate mystery reads like a debut, as Spiegelman handles the complex plot with verve.. John March is one of the most
intriguing new PIs to come along in quite some time, and if this strong first outing is any indication, he should be in for a long and enjoyable run.' Publishers Weekly'From the first growls of its take-no-prisoners narrator, all the way to the vivid financial details that only an insider can deliver, BLACK MAPS takes readers on an engrossing underground tour through the world of high finance.' Death's Little Helpers (John March #2)

In this masterful follow-up to Peter Spiegelman’s stunning debut Black Maps, private investigator John March finds himself drawn into a web of corruption that extends from the halls of high finance to the dark underworld of organized crime.
Gregory Danes, a Wall Street analyst has gone missing, and his ex-wife, a fashionable painter, calls March to track him down. She just wants him to sign her alimony checks, but as March soon discovers, she’s not the only one looking for him. Danes was once an industry hot shot, but has lost his touch. His biggest gains lately, it seems, had been in enemies–including a few members of the Russian mob. When March receives a threat upon his own family, he realizes Danes had been involved in something far more dangerous than insider trading.

Red Cat (John March #3)

Red Cat, the third riveting installment in Peter Spiegelman’s thrilling series of novels featuring the brooding New York City private investigator John March.
With a troubled past and a job that attracts too much attention from the law, March has always been the black sheep of his staid merchant-banking family. Which makes the identity of his latest client all the more surprising: his smug older brother David.
David is desperate and deeply scared, and with good reason: a woman he met on the Internet, and then for several torrid sexual encounters, is stalking him. David
knows her only as Wren, but she seems to know everything about him—and she’s threatening to tell all to his wife and his colleagues. His marriage, his career, and his
reputation at stake, David wants John to find this woman and warn her off. Reeling from these revelations, John begins the search for Wren, and what he discovers both alarms and fascinates him. Part actress, part playwright, part performance-artist and noir pornographer, Wren is a powerfully compelling mystery—though no more so, John discovers, than his own brother.
But when a body surfaces in the East River, March suddenly finds he’s no longer searching for a stalker. Now he’s hunting a killer—and following a trail that leads ever closer to David’s door. . . .

Thick as Thieves

TO: Mr. Boyce
FROM: Tina

SUBJECT: Prager job
PRIORITY: High

THE SCORE:
$100 million in black money from Curtis Prager, hedge fund titan turned
international criminal banker. A hard target, but a team of seasoned pros might pull it off.
THE CREW:
CARR—Ex-CIA. Expert planner and organizer, but a reluctant and untested leader.
VALERIE—Chameleon, honey trap, master manipulator, and lately, Carr’s lover. Has an agenda of her own—maybe more than one.
LATIN MIKE—Safecracker, muscle, a hot-headed hardcase. Unhappy with Carr’s management, but the promised payout from the Prager job has so far kept him in line.
BOBBY—Surveillance and security systems, and Latin Mike’s running buddy. If Mike is making his own play, Bobby’s certain to be a part of it.
DENNIS—Ace hacker, youngest member of the team, brilliant but gun-shy.
The death of their old boss, Declan, on their last job, has left the crew tense and paranoid. The Prager job could leave them set for life if they don’t self destruct first.
UPDATE:
A new security chief is beefing up protections around Prager’s Cayman Islands front. Carr and his crew have to tighten their already punishing timetable. A nearly
impossible job just got even harder.
