Internationally acclaimed rock band Placebo will release their seventh studio album Loud Like Love onSeptember 17 in North America via Universal Music. Recorded in London at RAK Studios during 2012 and early 2013, the album was produced by Adam Noble and features 10 brand new studio tracks. The album's track listing was announced today. First single "Too Many Friends" will head to radio globally on Monday, June 24 and will be available digitally on Tuesday, July 9.

The band has also confirmed a fall European tour, with additional dates in the United States, Latin America, Australia, Asia and other European and Eastern European markets to be announced soon.

Placebo has, to date, recorded six studio albums and sold more than 12 million records worldwide. The band's self-titled debut album, released in 1996, was certified gold in the UK and achieved platinum status in France. Since then, Placebo has enjoyed an ever growing level of success around the world with their unique blend of music and outstanding live performances. Their dark and melodic trademark sound featuring singerBrian Molko's instantly recognizable vocals has become one of the strongest brands in rock over the past decade. In 2009, Placebo received the MTV Europe Music Award for 'Best Alternative' act. Their last studio album, "Battle for the Sun", released through a network of independent partners worldwide, went to No. 1 in 10 countries, reached top 5 in 20 countries, and was also No. 1 on the Billboard European Album Charts for two weeks.

The band's third offering, “Black Market Music” emerged in 2000 and was a moderate success but deviated from their typical musical sound, displaying a more straightforward guitar-driven sound often associated with 1970s British and American rock. The album did not attain the same level of attention from the press that their previous albums did, in fact, around this time Placebo's relationship with the media became somewhat tense as the band were more publicly ridiculed. The band followed up with their fourth offering, “Sleeping with Ghosts” in 2003, which peaked at #11 on the U.K. Album chart. The band then embarked on a tour in support of the album in 2004. Again, the musical direction of the band shifted with more emphasis on experimentation with dance and electronic music. The album was received with mixed reviews from both their fans and critics alike.

The band took a break for a year when they returned from their tour, and resurfaced in late 2005 to begin work on their fifth studio album, “Meds,” which was released in 2006. The album spawned the hit singles: “Because I Want You” and “Song to Say Goodbye, with the latter becoming an international hit.” 2007 marked Hewitt's departure from Placebo and the addition of Steve Forrest. Placebo parted ways with EMI in 2008 and remained fairly inactive until 2011, when the band announced they are working on new material for the next studio album.
