I have the original 48 gig source, and yes it is not as detailed as the new blurays being produced.

Really? That's a shame, wish someone brought it to Joy's attention before the encode so she could have used the nicer source. Like she said further down, it is not all that sharp. Oh well, this encode is still very very nice.

He wasn't saying that there is a new Blu-ray of Planet Earth that is better, just that other new blu-rays of other shows that come out now a days, can be sharper.
