Adrift on the oceans of the Ape planet, the massive city ship Hydromeda is divided by rebellion. The opposing factions of Argol's orangutan administrators and Barbarus' gorilla workers are trapped together on the vessel unable to escape their adversaries. Into this fragile truce comes a third party: an assassin that intends to set the two factions against each other and to free the slaves that propel the ship.
