Restoration of the Portishead Essential Mix originally broadcast 12 Dec 1995.

Although This Essential mix is under the Portishead banner, It is actually work from Andy Smith. Not really part of the band line up he was used as the DJ on their Tours. I dont think he had much, if any, input on the studio albums.


It is split into 2 hour long parts.

Notes on what was edited.

Pete Tong vocals removed from the mix (sorry Pete) except from the start of each part for the introduction.

Part 1 : I have spliced part of the original Lalo Schifrin - Scorpios view into the mix to remove P.Tong.
I have extended the last track to enable a more natural fade out at the end of part 1
I have spliced part of the original Barry Gray - Theme from Space 1999 into the mix to remove Tong.


Part 2: Two cuts in the mix to remove P.Tong
I have spliced Portishead - Numb into the mix to enable a proper ending to the mix.
