To open this file you have to use Whatever software came with your 3D printer. If you downloaded an STL file, then you could also open it with Autodesk 123D, Sketchup, or some other 3D modelling software to see what the object would look like.

random firearm parts only not a complete firearm in the bunch. the ar15 is missing the upper receiver components (forward assist, dust cover, charging handle, bolt carrier group, gas tube/ gas block, barrel, rails/forearm, and the receiver itself)
