A MANAGEMENT RPG - NOT A FIGHTER

Personally I love this game, because I like management games.
You Role-play as a boxer whose father was killed in front of you as a child.
You then venture forth to get as strong as possible and avenge your loss.

Now how does the game play?
Well you have a map and you're on a "clock". Moving around the map takes either TIME or MONEY.
MONEY is used to buy food to keep you full enough to keep working out, as well as buying gym access and gym equipment later in the game.

TIME is what you consume by working out, traveling by foot, sleeping, or watching TV.

However at the end of each day, you lose a portion of your stats. So you need to balance working out, working for money, resting, and above all FIGHTING. (Fighting gets skill points, skill-points give new attacks.)

However don't expect much control in combat. You select which moves you'll be using in combat, then your character auto-fights for that round, then you reassign (or keep) moves.
That's it.

However you will have to pick a focus, no one can easily stay fit in Strength, Agility, and Stamina. So you'll probably end up focusing one and putting some in a second.

To Summarize each of the three main stats.
Strength - You hit hard, and often, but have no defense.
Agility - You have very complex moves that debuff your opposition and you dodge more than you block, hopefully you dodge more than you get hit by too; also you counter attack every dodge.
Stamina - You have an insane amount of health, block everything, are a virtual tank on legs, and once the enemy is tired and your stamina is full you can take them out with. *ah-ahem* WAN PAWWWWWWWWWWWWNCH!

Buy if you like management games, look up gameplay on Youtube if you're still unsure.

This game starts out kinda fun, but gets very very VERY grindy when you progress further. At a certain point I had a very strong fighter (about 20 strength) but not that great in agility (about 7, since the game makes it impossble to upgrade and maintain all three stats) and I went up against some Bruce Lee type of guy. This dude had a strength of 2!!!! So I was 10 times stronger then him yet I was unable to hit him even once. On top of that he had some perk that caused my missed swings to do damage to myself. WTF?? At the end of the fight I did not hit him once but he didn't hit me either ... So how exactly does this work?? I knocked myself out????????

Game is great fun for a short time. Too bad they stretched it waaaaaaay too long instead of adding more actual content. And towards the end the game just gets ridiculous. The concept of working out like a madman to gain 100 strength, only to lose 99 of it the moment you walk out of the gym, is just stupid. Note to the developers: that's not how training works. It's just an extremely exaggerated mechanism to make the game seem longer.

Not worth the current price.

Inovative! We have all had that daydream of a game being combined with another game. This is the actualization of that day dream. It has the sim elements found in a lot of sim games. A little basic in it's design it still pulls it off. There is then Rpg elements in the form of a skill tree and choices. Grinding for skill as is common in rpgs. The story wasn't bad, but actually pretty nostalgic. There are references to Rocky, Street fight, TMNT, Mortal combat, Double Dragon, and many more.

GAMEPLAY 3/5
DESIGN 3/5
STORY 4/5
FUN 4/5

The only thing that brings down it's scores are few. IF fixed the game would be 5/5. The problems are
-Bugs
-Poor optimazation (at 1300x700 res I was getting weird bugs. My comp is more than able to play this game and many more intense ones. I am not the only one either with this problem.)
-Difficult to play much past the final boss
-Needs more options for power points or the limit to be dropped from 25 to 20
-DLC to expand game length & possibley a 4th skill tree

A must have for your game library!

Beat the game on day 185 going to russia planing on playing it the other path later now to the review

So I tried a Agilty as main Stamina as second and like 4 in S but then I though wait this is mkaeing it almost impossible when you go against a Strength build or someone with either the same or higher you can almost never win so I changed it up went with Strength 13(to 15 with potions) Agilty 13 Stamina 11 I know it said to not go all around but since I never had to work on Strength I could keep up after I had all the food in the early stages with my full made gym I ended up doing pretty good in the end but it still had many MANY parts of just pure grind I would rate this 7/10 grinding was not fun but I felt like I was rewarded after I did hardcore training and enjoyed the story also winners don't do drugs unless potions which in that case TAKE ALL THE DRUGS

Tried all 3 builds and cleared game 2 times.
Generally speaking, this game is good enough for $9.99.
Pro:
+Good idea
+Easy to play
+Interesting battle system

But I strongly feel that this game stil have more potential, but the producer failed to make it.
Let's look at the cons:
- Weak story line, especially boring near end game
- ????ing unbalanced and fully luck based battle system
- very little content that worth grinding
This is the eactly game that I would like it, play it, and then delete it.

Still recommend this game though, since it only asks for $9.99, not $59.99 or $29.99

Your father was brutally murdered before your eyes. Now you must
train hard, eat chicken and punch dudes in the face to earn your
place in the Punch Club ranks, and discover who ended your father's
life.

Punch Club is a boxing tycoon management game with multiple
branching story lines. Your goal is clear, but how you get there
depends on whether you want to legitimately climb the rankings, or
take the more ridiculous, shady route.

Along the way you'll want to focus your talents. Will you take the
Way of the Tiger, the Way of the Turtle, or the Way of the [other
one?]? Your strength, accuracy and agility all depends on whichever
Way enlightens your path. Do you have stripes, or flippers?

And every decision will matter, especially in your social life.
You'll be juggling friendships, love life, work, recreational time,
relationships, and possible stardom, all alongside your gym time
and fighting aligators. It's not all just pumping iron, you know.

- Fighter management sim with RPG and tycoon elements

- Find out who killed your father, and maybe learn something about
yourself along the way

- Heavily story-driven, with multiple different narrative branches
and game endings to discover

- Get as deep with stats as you like, and find your own way through
extensive skill trees
