Description

The first track "Power Of Delight" sounds like The Knack's "My Sharona"! This isn't so surprising, perhaps, when you realise that Das Combo are composed of Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard from rockin', rollin' Texan power-boogie band ZZ Top. It's an odd combination: Rainer's vulnerable, haunting vocal matched to the muscle of Gibbons and Beard--and most of the time the latter pair win out. Still, there's no denying tracks like "(Making The) Trains (Run On Time)" and "Drive Drive Drive" have a certain mid-80s, rootsy, blues radio appeal. And everyone here certainly seems to be having a damn good time.
