Description
Both of these movies were produced in 1936, with guidance and support of US Law Enforcement agencies who, at that time, were pushing for the criminalization of marijuana. Although the films have achieved a level of cult status among pro-marijuana supporters since the 1960s, beneath the humor in their ridiculously over-exaggerated drama and angst, realize that this type of propaganda actually had an effect on society and the public’s acceptance of the drug policies we still live under to this day. Please remember these films are 75 years old, and were originally filmed in black and white, on celluloid.

A young girl named Burma attends a beach party with her boyfriend and after she smokes marijuana with a bunch of other girls, she gets pregnant and another girl drowns while skinny dipping in the ocean. Burma and her boyfriend go to work for the pusher in order to make money so they can get married. However, during a drug deal her boyfriend is killed leaving Burma to fend for herself. Burma then becomes a major narcotics pusher in her own right after giving up her baby for adoption.
