America let its own people down. How could non-Americans ever expect anything better from the country that treats its citizens with such contempt? An utterly illuminating story on how America fu**ed its own folk, and how stupidity, corporate greed and rampant racism killed Detroit.

But there seems to be a glimmer of hope. And it sure ain't coming from the White House, or investors, but from the ordinary Detroit folk who witnessed the unstoppable decline and death of their once proud city.

The wind of change seems to be coming as the city is head-butting the rock bottom and seeing it's desperate community unable to sink any lower. It might, just might start the process of bringing back some dignity to the place devastated by man-made Katrina.
