BBC R7 presents Stephen King’s story about a man imprisoned for a murder he did not commit. Following themes set by Dumas in the first part of The Count of Monte Cristo – a novel that King touches his cap at, by including it among the books in Shawshank Prison Library – it is an uplifting story of endurance, revenge and redemption. It’s also one of the greatest modern prison drama. What is less known about it is that the film is based on a brief novella. Read by - Clarke Peters
