Enemies in the Experimental Animal Research Building (実験動物研究棟, AKA the Bonus Dungeon) do not count as bosses though, and will respawn after you've changed maps at least once. (like normal enemies.) A word about stats (translated from the manual): 最大HP : Max HP 剣攻撃力 : Sword Attack Power : Influences damage of melee attacks. 射撃攻撃力 : Ranged Attack Power : Influences damage of ranged attacks. (shots) 防御力 : Defence : Reduces damage of incoming attacks. 生命力 : Vitality : Allows easier escape from within a monster's body. (AKA let's you break out of vore attacks easier.) 素早さ : Agility : Influences movement speed, attack speed, and charge rate. (AKA how fast your charge bar* [the one with the percentages] recharges.) 運 : Luck : Affects the number of crystals dropped by monsters. ** クリティカル : Critical : Influences the rate of critical attacks.*** * Charged attacks are automatically executed when the attack button (melee or ranged) is pressed with a full charge bar (100%). Charged melee attacks have a longer attack range than normal attacks, and appear to deal 3~4x times more damage. Charged ranged attacks shoot multiple projectiles instead. ** Also appears to increase the appearance of HP recovery orbs. *** Critical attacks appear to deal twice as much raw damage, but against endgame monsters it's possible to deal up to three times your normal damage since their defence only applies once. (the normal damage has already been reduced by their defence.) When you level up, you can choose to advance in one out of four possible "masteries": ソードマスタリー : Sword Mastery -Stat bonuses are focused on Sword Attack Power, with a smaller emphasis on HP. ディフェンスマスタリー : Defence Mastery -Stat bonuses are focused on Defence, HP, and Vitality. ショットマスタリー : Shot Mastery -Stat bonuses are focused on Ranged Attack Power, with a slight emphasis on Agility. スピードマスタリー : Speed Mastery - Stat bonuses are focused on Agility, Luck, and Critical. Speed Mastery is overpowered here, while Defence Mastery is arguably the least useful. I went for pure speed mastery in my first game, and ended up with a critical rate in the fifties before fighting the final boss.
