WILL YOU STILL BE MINE 4:18 TOTAL TIME: 39:02 Recorded October 24, 1973 A great place to start for jazz beginners A far more sophisticated musician friend of mine gave me this album in the mid-seventies. Jazz for me, at that time, was far too spun with hype to comprehend based on what was "new"... and by then there had been far too much water under the bridge in Jazz history to understand a player's contribution, or unique gift for an outsider.... Well, that's how I saw it anyway. Ron Carter's "All Blues" was probably more of a side trip for Carter, never the less. I found it completely accessible despite my lack of technical appreciation and yet is it VERY technically sophisticated.... That's because Ron Carter is profoundly aware of every note he, (or for that matter, anyone he listen's to)plays. His mind is superb, his composition skills are as difficult as breathing for him.... and most of all, he is gentle and challenging to follow at the same time... This album is a graceful and illuminating experiance... for who?... well me, as a "Jazz Outsider"... but I doubt even the most bitchy jazz expert would dare challenge Carter's credentials, (and for you big shots reading this...If you sneer, I'd like to see you take him on face to face).... well, enough of that... This album opened a enormous world for me, a world in which some of the most beautiful music ever created awaits.. - Paul Favour (Modesto, CA United States) (Amazon.com) Related Torrents
