CSX Selkirk yard is one of largest classification yards in the North East. Serving New England, South to New York City, and North to the City of Albany via the Port Sub.
Today's Selkirk yard is a major hub for the gateway west and south. On any given day, 70+ trains either orginate, terminate or pass though Selkirk. Trains enter the yard, if terminating, 11 tracks called the receving yard, from there the power of the train is cut away and then brought into the fuel plant. From there the inbound trains, have their air bleed, and then humped over the 3.2% grade and re classed for new trains. Now you can enjoy this route in Run8 complete with a working hump and classfication yard!
