Synopsis:
Adi Tomar (Madhavan)a women's boxing coach, falls victim to politics in the Boxing Federation and is transferred to Tamil Nadu, where the scope for women's boxing is very small. Nevertheless, he unearths raw talent in Madhi (Rittika Singh) and takes her under his wing. madhi's elder sister Laxmi (Mumtaz Sorcar) who has been boxing for years, is peeved and jealous of this preference.

But madhi and Adi don't get along, partly because of Adi's behaviour and partly because of insinuations by lakshmi. So much so that Madhi deliberately throws a selection trial.

After many misunderstadings and acts of sacrifice, Madhi and Adi are reconciled dramatically when Madhi achieves her ambition of becoming a world champion..

The Hindi remake of a Tamil film Irudhi Suttru, Saala Khadoos is a very predictable film, but is nevertheless unusual because films on the theme of sports are relatively rare in India. It is also lifted out of the ordinary by the superb acting by the three main protagonists - Madhavan as the dedicated but prickly coach, Rittika as madhi and Mumtaz Sorcar as Lakshmi. In particular, the two girls bring a freshness and spontaneity that raises the film above the ordinary.

Its a super film technically too with fine camera work by Vijayan and some competent editing. The Director does well by not letting the film drag.

Overall a film worth watching, even if it is a bit predictable.

Uploader's Notes:
Unfortunately the production quality of the BD does not match the production quality of the film! There is a surfeit of yellow and a distressing lack of detail. We have spruced it up a bit without impinging on what the Director wanted us to see - compare it with the U-yube trailers, for example.

This is a HEVC rip and most of the space is taken up by the DTS audio. Nevertheless, the video quality should match a x264 rip twice this size.
