Sam Eason is a singer/songwriter from Oldland Common, Bristol (UK). Born in 1984 to a ginger mother, he inherited this highly unpopular trait and used it to his advantage to become a reclusive, neurotic, angry, depressive young lad - perfect ingredients for the archetypal songwriter… Unfortunately he lost much of his bile along the way when he discovered writing about love (and lack of) was much easier. Although, like so many others, he considers music his life; his relationship with his guitar and vocal chords remain a part-time pasttime due to his full-time job as a Special Needs Teacher in Bristol. He plays gigs and sets around town if and when the wind blows in the right direction which always pleases his legion of three, sometimes four fans. He is plastered all over youtube with videos often appearing after a particularly good sneeze - something which both scares and confuses him. Influences are drawn from Nick Drake, Ryan Adams, Turin Brakes, John Martyn and Damien Rice although the sum is generally much less than than the parts on this occasion. His songs generally follow themes of love, longing, losing and finding; although some have been known to venture into darker or more off-kilter territories. Sam himself is a personable, polite young man - according to one school report - who will go far in which ever vocation he decides to follow. He also finds it quite hard writing in the third person… Sharing Widget |
