A Wake For Sam: Tribute to Samuel Beckett (27th January 1990)[VHSRip(XviD)]

ORIGINAL UPLOADERS COMMENTS:

Samuel Beckett died on the 22nd December 1989. As a tribute to his life and work, the BBC broadcast a short series of programmes in late January and early February 1990. It was captured from an old VHS tape and the quality is less than crisp. Nevertheless, it’s pretty good and contains a few gems. It includes a bedraggled Jack MacGowran in a bleak, desert-like environment reading extracts from Molloy, a very funny passage from Murphy read to camera by Ronald Pickup, a short extract from All That Fall, the whole second act of Waiting For Godot (the 1975 Open University production with Max Wall and Leo McKern), the whole of Patrick Magee’s Krapp’s Last Tape and a few minutes of Eh Joe, with Jack McGowran. There are also some introductory comments from another of Beckett’s favoured actors, Billie Whitelaw. Although Eh Joe is incomplete, I hope the rest is of interest to Beckett fans and makes up for Joe being cut off mid-nightmare.
