This is the audiophile gold disk version of this tremendous performance remastered by RCA from the original master tapes. If you read the liner notes above (click to enlarge), you will see that restored tube electronics were used in the playback, and any form of noise reduction, limitation or eq was eschewed. So this is essentially a flat transfer of the mastertapes.

But sonic spendour aside...this is THE performance to have of Rimsky Korsakov's finest composition.
