De 17-jarige Farley heeft het talent een beroemde ijshockeyspeler te worden,
maar heeft dit zelf niet door. Hij leeft een besloten leven en krijgt thuis
onderwijs van zijn ouders en als huiswerk moet hij naar kunstgalerijen. Zijn
beste vriendin is Eve, het meisje dat naast hem woont sinds ze drie jaar oud
waren. Farley vindt het leuk om ijshockey te spelen met zijn
ijshockeyvrienden, maar zijn ouders zijn hier niet zo blij mee. Hij mag mee
doen aan een competitie en wordt hierdoor bekend, maar doet dan de ontdekking
dat er van hem verwacht wordt dat hij zal vechten. Wanneer zijn relatie met
Eve verandert, raakt Farley de weg kwijt.

Seventeen-year-old Farley has led a sheltered life, raised on a diet of home
schooling, organic living and trips to the art gallery. To his parents' dismay,
Farley loves to play shinny with the local rink rats. To their even greater
dismay, Farley is scouted and signed by the owner (Stephen McHattie) of a
junior league team, where he becomes an instant star. But Farley discovers that
stardom comes with a price-including the expectation to fight on the ice. Throw
in a changing relationship with his best friend (Allie MacDonald), and Farley
finds himself losing his way.
