Screamers.

Great script. Good acting. Some parts really show off the low budget and that's the problem.

You can't suspend the disbelief after you witness some low budget effects that spoil the experience.

In the beginning, you can see the poor effects right away and that upsets the serious tone.

I used to own a cd player that looks exactly like the one they used in this movie, except in this movie it was a virtual reality walkman or something.

Plus there is a rock song used that totally upsets the mood.

Once these are removed, the sets, the story, all seem to work a bit better.

Plus Peter Weller is in this! And it was based on a Phillip K. Dick story!
