METAL LEGIONS PRESENT!!!
BY BLOGIS!!!!!! PROGRESSIVE METAL FOR TRULY PROG FAN REQOMEND Seventh Wonder was formed in 2000 by bass player Andreas Blomqvist, guitarist Johan Liefvendahl and drummer Johnny Sandin after their previous band fell apart. The music turned towards the side of progressive metal and as the band was joined by keyboard player Andreas Kyrt S?derin late 2000, the new sound was cemented further. Two demos were recorded, the first in 2001 (Seventh Wonder) and the second in 2003 (Temple In The Storm), both of which received good press[citation needed]. Many singers have come and gone in Seventh Wonder over the years, among others Ola Hal?n of power metal band Insania Sthlm. The longest living member in the past was Andi Kravljaca (ex: Heave, Elsesphere, now Silent Call), and it was with Kravljaca at the microphone that the band recorded their debut album Become (released in 2005), after landing a record deal with Finland's Lion Music. Become was well received by the press and top scores were given everywhere. However, the band and Andi decided to part ways shortly after the recording process had ended and once more the search for a singer started. Tommy Karevik joined the band in 2005, prior to the release of Become. The next album entitled Waiting In The Wings was recorded in 2006 and was mixed and mastered by Tommy Hansen. Waiting In The Wings got even greater reviews than Become did, scoring multiple top scores of 10 out of 10 "Review by "Progressor.net"" (Nov 10, 2006)., "Review by "TreeHouse of Death"" (Feb 14, 2007)., "Review by "Prognaut"" (Jan 10, 2007)., "Review by "Living For Metal"" (Oct 18, 2006)., not too common in the business. 2007 was a year of writing new material and playing live. During 2007 Seventh Wonder has played in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, England and the Netherlands together with acts such sa Jorn Lande, Pagan's Mind, Queensryche, Testament, Sun Caged and Redemption. In August 2007 the band also parted ways with Intromental Management, however, continuing to work with Lion Music. Seventh Wonder have set September 12th, 2008 as the release date for the follow up to Waiting in the Wings, Mercy Falls. The third track off the forthcoming album, aptly titled 'Welcome to Mercy Falls' was released on July 4th, 2008 on the Seventh Wonder Forum. Other samples off the album are also available on the forum as well. [edit] Style Seventh Wonder mix fast paced, guitar driven instrumental passages with symphonic style vocal melodies. They are recognized for the technical virtuosity of both the bassist Andreas Blomqvist and guitarist Johan Liefvendahl. The bass occupies an unusually large part of the sound which is very uncommon in progressive metal and has since become a trademark for the band. Tommy's rich and very emotional vocal expression also adds to the unique sound of the band, as do the many harmony parts played on the guitar and keyboard simultaneously. The use of 80's style choruses and melodies may scare off some of the listeners who normally listens to heavier, aggresive music but is again a trademark of the band which puts them in a special place on the map of progressive metal.
