In this new edition, more than 190 authors have joined this effort. Nearly 60% are new authors. All authors have provided the most up-to-date view of their respective areas.

The history of Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease now spans more than five decades, as outlined in the following table, which lists the editions, publication year, editors, and publisher of this text.



About the Authors:

Catharine Ross is the occupant of the Dorothy Foehr Huck Chair and Professor of Nutrition at The Pennsylvania State University. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of California at Davis and a Masters of Nutrition Sciences and Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular and cell biology from Cornell University.

Benjamin Caballero is Professor of International Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Professor of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Buenos Aires and his Ph.D. in neuroendocrine regulation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Robert J. Cousins is the Boston Family Professor of Nutrition and Eminent Scholar at the University of Florida. He has a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin. He has been President and Board Chair of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology and President of the American Society for Nutrition (ASN).

Katherine L. Tucker is Professor of Nutritional Epidemiology at Northeastern University. She received her Ph.D. from Cornell University and her B.Sc. from the University of Connecticut, both in nutritional science. She is a past Chair of the Nutritional Sciences Council and past board member of the American Society for Nutrition, and she served as an associate editor for The Journal of Nutrition for 8 years.

Thomas R. Ziegler is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Emory Center for Clinical and Molecular Nutrition at Emory University School of Medicine. He received his B.S. and M.S. in nutrition and his M.D. from Michigan State University, and was a postdoctoral fellow in nutrition at Harvard Medical School.
