i bought this album like many on the strength of Sia's performance on Jools Holland, having only heard her before on a Zero 7 album i have. From that show i thought Buttons was brilliant but when i got the album, maybe partly because its a hidden track, its one of the songs i listen to least-although it is great. Sia will be loved or hated for her voice by the mainstream but its the songs here which are so well written. They are all a bit different and aren't just run of the mill manufactured nonense. There really isn't a bad song on the album and songs like Lentil and Electric Bird stay in your head for ages. I think the high point of the album though has to be Death By Chocolate which is then followed by Soon We'll Be Found. These songs are just incredible and i want Sia to get more attention so more people can hear these amazing songs. The only thing i'm not so keen on is the cover of I Go To Sleep. Theres nothing wrong with it but i can't get past the Pretenders version which is inbeded in me-in fact i wish they had left it off the album and replaced it with Buttons as a proper track but it doesn't spoil the party. Just go out and buy it because amongst a lot of good albums last year like Vampire Weekend,Portishead, Elbow,this is my favourite album of 2008.
