Silent Hunter III Collection.

All contents of this torrent have been tested on Windows XP and on Windows7 64bit with no issues for me.

Contents:

1: Silent Hunter III. (Original Vanilla Game)
2: Silent Hunter III + GWX 3.0 GOLD. (The Grey Wolves Expansion Pre-installed).
3: The Grey Wolves Gold Expansion Pack. (If you want to install the expansion yourself). The SH3 Commander utility is also included in this folder.

Please Note: The first two items under contents do not need any install. That's right, no install. Just choose which one you prefer (Silent Hunter III + GWX 3.0 GOLD.rar is highly recommended), extract to the location of your choice, drag out a shortcut to SH3.exe from the game directory and play the game.

It's as simple as that. No install, no cracking, no messing, no starforce, NO SH1T.


I have included the Grey Wolves Gold Expansion Pack separately should you wish for some reason to install the GWX expansion yourself. This really is the only Expansion you'll need. SH3 becomes a completely different game. It includes some great mods that can be enabled/disabled with the jonesoft mod enabler. Instructions below.


INSTALLING THE GWX EXPANSION.

Note: Installing the GWX expansion will automatically install the JoneSoft Mod enabler and all the included mods. It is already installed in the "Silent Hunter III + GWX 3.0 GOLD.rar" option above. You will need the original game (included) to use this expansion.

1: Unpack the "Silent Hunter III Collection" rar archive to your desktop and open it.
2: Open the "GWX3 Gold" folder. It contains three more folders, Documentation (the GWX3 manual), GREY WOLVES EXPANSION 3.0 GOLD, and Utilities.
3: Open the GWX Gold folder and double click the application Icon to start the install.
4: Click "Run"
5: Select your preferred language and click "OK" This will take you to the GWX install screen and the Grey Wolves background image.
6: Click "Next"
7: Click "next" again.
8: At the "Destination Location" screen, er, browse to the location of your Silent Hunter III game directory, select it and click "ok"
9: Click "next"
10: Now you will be at the "Ready to Install" screen. Check the destination Location is correct and click the "Install" button.
11: GWX Gold will now install.
12: Click "Finish"
13: You should now have desktop shortcuts for "SilentHunterIII with GWX 3.0", GWX 3.0 Manual (English), JSGME (the mod enabler).

If you wish to use the SH3 Commander utility it is in the utilities folder inside the "Grey Wolves Gold Expansion Pack" folder.
This is the only part that does require an installation routine.

INSTALLING SH3 COMMANDER

1: Open the "GWX 3 GOLD" folder.
2: Open the Utilities folder and double click "SH3Cmdr32"
3: Click "Next"
The next two steps contain information other than the usual licensing and legal rubbish. You might want to read it.
4: Accept the license agreement and click "Next"
5: Click "Next" again
6: You will now be asked where you want to install SH3 Commander. Choose a location and click "next".
7: Select your options on the next screen and click "next"
8: Review your choices and click "INSTALL"
9: UNCHECK the options on the next screen and do not start SH3Commander. Click "Finish"

Note: If you are running the GWX3 version of the game you will need to install "GWX3_SH3Cdr3.2Files_v1.2". This is a very similar install routine to the above so I won't repeat myself. It modifies some files within SH3 Commander to enable it to run properly with the GWX 3.0 Expansion. If you are not using the GWX expansion you do not need it.


A note on screen resolution.

Please understand that this is an old game. It is set at a resolution of 1024x768. On a widescreen monitor there will be black borders to the left and right of the display.

There are some widescreen mods available but all have their advantages and disadvantages. If you wish to experiment with such mods - you do so at your own risk. They are available along with many other quality mods if you register an account, free of course, at Subsim.com

Other than what is included in this torrent I cannot vouch for any other 3rd party mods or content in any way, so please do not ask.
