Alan Arkin and Madeline Kahn shine in Marshall Brickman's scathing satire of 70's culture. Arkin is in top form and utterly hysterical as Simon Mendelssohn, a somewhat self-centered college professor who has more enthusiasm than brains. Simon is selected as the ideal guinea pig for the latest project of The Institute For Advanced Concepts, a government think-tank gone awry. They brainwash Simon into believing he is an extra-terrestrial merely to examine the social impact. The plan backfires when the public buys into Simon's demented ravings and delusions of grandeur. Written and directed by Marshall Brickman, who wrote screenplays for several Woody Allen films. I love this movie, my sides ache from laughter every time I watch it. Yet another gem that finally got it's richly deserved DVD release. By the way for some reason tracker information on my torrents here on Kickass always says zero seeders and zero leechers, even when there are. Sharing WidgetAll Comments |
