DescriptionFor four decades ABBA - the combined talents of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad - has been a global music phenomenon, clocking up record sales of over 360 million. For the very first time The Complete ABBA compiles all of the Swedish supergroup's singles, albums, TV specials, tours and movies. Beginning with their 1972 debut single People Need Love, the book chronicles the band's incredible story right through to Björn and Benny's triumphant Thank You for the Music tribute concert held in London in 2009, and beyond, to 2012, the band's 40th anniversary. This is all the ABBA you'll ever need! About the Author Simon Sheridan is the author of The Complete Abba, Keeping The British End Up and The Complete Kylie. He is a popular broadcaster on cult and retro culture. Johnson - Supergroup ABBA broke up in 1983, and to this day rumors of a supposed reuniting of the band still causes worldwide buzz. ABBA was a great pop band, perhaps the best that ever was, and this book is an encyclopedia of everything ABBA. This book covers songs, albums, television shows, and even the Momma Mia! stage play. Yep, this book is an encyclopedia, except that it is organized in chronological order. So, that means that you can read through the book and watch ABBA's career (and post-career) unfold. I found it to be a very interesting and informative read, and I am very glad that I got it! Good ABBA Read 12 December 2012 By Andrea A. - Like any kid of the 70's, I was a fan of ABBA. Had the albums, sang the songs, watched them on tv,and overplayed Dancing Queen. Saw Mamma Mia on stage, saw the film, and got the cd of Benny and Bjorn's CHESS, so this was a natutal choice to read. I liked it, the only thing was there was this big introduction of how the band formed, then the rest of the books was all in pieces and snippets and gave a bio of each song ,album, and tour. I wish it was just one story from start to finish, but all in all, not too bad. The Complete ABBA 13 March 2012 By icefire2 - Everyone should buy this book and read it. Which gives you the reader insight to how, why, and where the inspiration for there song came from. I have read this book four times and I'm still amazed at how fascinating this book is.
