This is a DTS 5.1 conversion created from a lossless FLAC source utilizing the SPEC method (ArcTan mode) as found on www.surroundbyus.com.

Only playable on home theater equipment and PC software capable of decoding a DTS signal. Otherwise, you will hear static.

I appreciate the strong and detailed listen, but there's only so much I can do with stereo.

As it states in the description, it is a DTS file. You have to have a DTS decoder in your amp, DVD player or stand alone decoder. The static you are hearing is the DTS stream.
