Sky - Piece of Paradise

Sky was a Canadian R&B-influenced Pop rock group from Montreal, Quebec. The duo originally consisted of James Renald and Antoine Sicotte. Both were songwriters, producers and multi-instrumentalists, who met in 1992 at a music engineering school in Montreal. Anastasia (2000–2003) replaced James as the lead singer after he left, and Karl Wolf (2003–2005) was the last lead singer of the group.

While many will criticize Piece of Paradise as nothing more than a pop lite collection, this debut from Canada's Sky exhibits a keen understanding of what the pop music formula is. Nowhere on here will you find "classic" compositions, but what the listener will find is a perfect soundtrack to a great lazy day and a desire for inoffensive Top 40-ready songs. The beauty of this album is its ebb and tide of content. Standout tracks include "Dreamin," "I Will Survive," and the highly infectious "Push." An impressive first attempt for the photogenic Canadian duo which should only mark the beginning of bigger things to come.
