Slacker è un esperimento narrativo che segue una singola giornata della vita di alcuni giovani sfaccendati (Slacker significa appunto fannullone, scansafatiche) che si muovono nel "sottobosco urbano" di Austin, Texas. Nella quarantina di spezzoni che vedono protagonisti un centinaio di personaggi c'è spazio per scene di vita, aneddoti, confronti, riflessioni. Alcuni personaggi fanno riferimento a varie teorie del complotto (omicidio di JFK, contatti alieni durante le missioni Apollo...).
