Description Sleepy Hollow is an American science fiction fantasy mystery adventure drama television series that premièred on Fox on September 16, 2013. The series is considered a "modern-day retelling" of the 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. After Ichabod Crane "dies" during a mission for General George Washington in 1790, he awakens in 2013 Sleepy Hollow. But so does the Headless Horseman, whose head Ichabod lopped off before his perceived death.
