This is a collection of classic tracks from one of the greatest R&B/Rock bands of the 60's.
These tracks were sourced from the excellent 2010 catalog remasters and processed into 5.1 DTS surround using the Spec method and tools available on Surroundbyus.com. This upmix can only be played on PCs and HT/audio systems capable of decoding and playing DTS files. You can burn it to a CD-R using the cue file. I recommend ImgBurn for best results.

These tracks are from the individual albums, not a greatest hits collection. One thing to note is that on the very early tracks, the instrument placement can be a bit unusual (drums in
just one channel, for example) because recording engineers were still figuring out how to mix in stereo. As a result, for maximum enjoyment it should be played on a system where the front and rear speakers are of equal quality, size and sonics.

Sly & The Family Stone was one of the hottest bands in the 60's and managed to appeal to Top 40, R&B and Rock audiences. That's something that is very hard to do today. At their peak they were an incredible live act, but often suffered from techs on the soundboard that couldn't keep up with a band where everyone sang on nearly every song. I have yet to find a live track/video that did not have this problem. Even so, their performance at Woodstock was one the the highlights of the festival, movie and soundtrack.
