My Heart Is True Cry In The Night Hold On For The Night Never Fight Again Rock Away Your Teardrops Second Choice Hold On Tight Only Love Hurts Looking Daggers Hot Girls And Summer Nights If You Think You Know How To Love Me The first post Chris Norman album by Smokie and a promising start for new singer Alan Barton. Stand out tracks are Rock Away Your Teardrops, Looking Daggers, Hot Girls And Summer Nights and of course If You Think You Know How To Love Me which is a re-recorded version of the classic hit. Looking Daggers had been released by the Chris Norman line-up back in 1982 but failed to chart in the UK which was a real shame because it is a great song jointly penned by Mike Chapman, Holly Knight and Michael Des Barres. Silson and Uttley obviously liked it too as they got Alan Barton to sing a new version here. Rock Away Your Teardrops was a strange choice as it had featured on the Chris Norman solo album of the same name, also released in 1982. Alan Barton doesn't disappoint with this version. You may obviously prefer other tracks to the ones I have stated as my personal favourites. The impact of some, I feel, may have been lessened by the Eighties style production however. Overall, a worthy album for the Smokie collector! Sharing Widget |
