In Sniper Elite III emphasis is put on giving the player the freedom to choose. The game shows a large and varied world, which allows to use different tactics and play styles. The action takes place in an exotic and deadly North Africa during World War II. Special Agent USS Carl Fairbairn penetrate behind enemy lines to using your skills of an experienced sniper to help the Allies fight the formidable German tanks "Tiger" in the Western Desert. But the main concern of Karl - not the famous Afrika Korps. He soon learns of plans to create the Germans «wunderwaffe» - wonder weapons, able to crush everything in its path and turn the entire course of the war.
