About This Game


Construct and design buildings for optimal working conditions. Hire people to design and release software, so you can defeat the simulated competition and take over their businesses. Manage and educate your employees to make sure they are skilled and satisfied with their job.

Software Inc. combines tycoon gameplay with multi-story building mechanics, employee management and a simulated market. It is inspired by games like Game Dev Tycoon, Prison Architect, The Sims and Theme Hospital.

Hire employees to design, develop, support, research and market software in teams
Build roads and parking to ease commuting for your employees
Tend to your employees' needs, demands, skills and specializations, while making sure each team has compatible personalities
Customize your own employee avatar
Create your own software products and franchises
Compete in a simulated or event-driven market by selling your products, taking on contract work or trading stocks
Hire staff to repair your furniture and computers, and clean your office
Mod what kind of software you can develop, what kind of companies will be simulated, game scenarios, missions, personalities and random name generators
Delegate important tasks to your team leaders, such as managing development cycles and human resources
Set up your own servers for products, source control and running your own online store

Pressing load multiple times causes the debug scene to load
Shift at 00:00 spawns multiple cars per employee
Room transitive closure calculation bogs down CPU when placing furniture, switched to Floyd-Warshall with simple data structures and only recalculate when pathing has changed
Fixed weird text cursor behaviour when editing founder name
Linux crash caused by Steam integration error should be fixed (Updated Unity and added some specific exception handling)
Fixed places with missing translations (All parts of the game are still not translatable)
Fixed not enough meetings taking place if days per month > 1
Furniture reporting wrong room during save causing the game to fail loading the save (Still need to figure out root cause)
Employees going for coffee in an endless loop causing them to not do anything (bug was only introduced in Alpha 4.5 beta)
Fixed IT staff not going home and stuck when deleting furniture
Disable bug reporter after 50 messages to avoid needless background CPU usage
Education length was bugged when days per month > 1
Cleaners now prioritize by room dirtiness instead of distance to current position


Instructions:

Download.
Open file.
Choose install location.
Install. (The installer closes by itself.)
