Spirou & Fantasio 1-3 + scanlations (data9724-DCP, The Man-Arrr-Tee-Novus, and others) [NVS-D]

And here you go, a nice upload of Spirou and Fantasio 1-3, scanned from the Cinebook releases.

For those of you that dont know Spirou & Fantasio, it is one of the most popular classic Franco-Belgian comic strips. The series, which has been running since 1938, shares many characteristics with other European humorous adventure comics like Tintin and Asterix.
Spirou and Fantasio are the series' main characters, two adventurous journalists who run into fantastic adventures, aided by Spirou's pet squirrel Spip and their inventor friend the Count of Champignac.


Apart from the 3 Cinebook releases, I have also added all known scanlations of Spirou. But sadly, the quality on those varies a LOT, most of them having no covers, horrible text, and no sound effects and text outside of bubbles changed. I have not added any screenshots from those, since there are no generel representation on how they all look :)


Spirou & Fantasio 01 - Adventure Down Under:
Spirou and Fantasio’s friend, the Count of Champignac, asks them to join him in Australia, where he has heard that an ancient monolith is still standing. When they arrive, Champignac’s colleague Walker Donahue informs them that Champignac has been abducted by local gangster Sam. The monolith they’re after stands in the vicinity of an aboriginal mining village, which is constantly prey to white prospectors trying to steal indigenous resources.

Spirou and Fantasio must save Champignac from Sam’s clutches and help him find the legendary monolith while standing by the aboriginal people.





Spirou & Fantasio 02 - Spirou in New York:
And here we are, the next Spirou comics.
This is one of my personal favorites, and they should have started with this as #1 imo, as it is more geared towards an international audience than Adventure Down Under (ok, they should have started with Franquin's run, but this is the next best thing). If you don't like this one, you got no soul :)

Spirou and Fantasio have won a million dollars and a trip to New York City. How lucky! Well, maybe not that lucky, since it’s all a plot by Don Cortizone to change his own fortune in his struggle against “The Mandarin”—by enlisting the help of truly lucky people. Before long, the two reporters find themselves in the middle of a shooting war between Italian Mafia and Chinese Triad–and they’ll have to make their own luck.





Spirou & Fantasio 03 - Running Scared:
Spirou and Fantasio are hired by a doctor to escort some of his patients. Their ailment? An apparently incurable case of the hiccups. His solution: Send them on the most insane adventure ever and scare the hiccups out of them! Since he offers to pay for their expedition, the two fearless reporters agree to take the patients with them as they attempt to locate two explorers lost in 1938 near the Nepalese border… in the middle of a war!
