Bueno creo que despues de intentarlo y que mi mujer me deje de hablar despues de dos dias para conseguir subir este discografia, creo que lo he logrado. solo quiero que si cometo algun error me lo perdoneis porque es la primera vez.

Spock's Beard Discografía.



Con nueve álbumes en el mercado y con 12 años de carrera, los Spock's realmente han dejado huella dentro de todos nuestros afortunados oídos, ya que sin duda alguna, su toque característico no pasa desapercibido. Esta banda comienza sus pasos en el año 1992, cuando un par de hermanos provenientes de Los Angeles, EEUU, se juntan para comenzar un nuevo camino, que para mí, es el mejor...el de la música.

Alan Morse, encargado de la guitarra eléctrica y Neal Morse, quien se encargaría de los teclados, la guitarra acústica y las voces, darían pie a lo que sería una de las bandas más importantes de la época.

Sin dudarlo, comenzaron a buscar a quienes serian el equipo definitivo de Las Barbas de Spock (nombre sacado de un capitulo de Star Trek). En un club de jam, se encontrarían con Nick D'Virgilio, quien encantado formaría parte del grupo, a cargo de la batería, prontamente se integraría Dave Meros en el bajo, ambos, músicos consagrados y bien capacitados. Este sería el line up con el que se lanzarían al lindo diario vivir de crear música.

Con esto sacan el primer disco llamado The Light, en 1995. Disco con el cual simplemente dieron a conocer el poder de creación y la emoción puesta sobre cada instrumento. Temas épicos y conceptuales de gran calidad, que quedarían como himnos imprescindibles dentro del Prog. Realmente fue un disco que no buscaba el mercado, ultra sencillo, pero no por eso, de baja calidad, sino todo lo contrario. Con un toque muy del Rock de los 70's, con pasajes influenciados en Genesis, Yes y las grandiosas mezclas vocales a lo Gentle Giant, este grupo se abre paso en los que nosotros llamamos, Sonidos de Verdad.

Luego de su disco debut, se uniría al elenco el veterano Ryo Okumoto, proveniente de Osaka, Japon, quien se encargaría del Hammond y el Mellotron, acompañando en teclados a Neal.



Al correr de los años, se ve claramente que quien lleva la batuta es Neal, quien toma un papel fundamental en el grupo. Fue en el disco Snow, (disco doble conceptual, donde cuentan la historia de un tipo albino llamado John, a quien se le llama Snow por lo mismo), en donde alcanzan su peak, aquí muestran todo su potencial creativo y dejarían cautivados a muchos.

Lamentablemente sería la despedida de Neal, quien dice haber sido testigo de un mensaje de Dios, por lo que decide separarse del grupo y seguir su camino en solitario.



Con una pieza menos, el grupo logró seguir el rumbo. El baterista Nick D'Virgilio tomaría las riendas de Spock's, a cargo de las voces, algo muy curioso, ya que se repetiría lo mismo que hace años le habría pasado a Genesis, luego de la salida de Peter Gabriel, sería su baterista, Phill Collins quien tomaría las riendas del grupo, a cargo de las voces.

Feel Euphoria, el disco que siguió la era Post-Neal, sería una búsqueda de identidad totalmente nueva, pero que con el tiempo se fue fortaleciendo y llegaría a consolidarse con lo que son ahora. Sin duda una de las bandas más interesantes y versátiles de los últimos tiempos. En cada uno de sus trabajos se puede apreciar un sonido fresco y agradable, con toques lúdicos y apasionantes, una corriente de emociones imparable. Sin más que mencionar...solo disfruten...
