Artist: Suffocate For Fuck Sake Album: Blazing Fires And Helicopters On The Frontpage Of The Newspaper. There's A War Going On And I'm Marching In Heavy Boots Year: 2008 Genre: Post-Rock/Screamo Country: Sweden Last.fm Suffocate For Fuck Sake is a Swedish band creating music combining post-rock, sludge, and emotional vocals resembling those of Louise Cyphre or Mihai Edrisch. The band describes their sound as "Sigur Rós, Breach, Cult of Luna, Mono, Mogwai, all playing at the same time". In their 2008 masterpiece, "Blazing Fires and Helicopters on the Front Page of the Newspaper. There's a War Going On and I'm Marching in Heavy Boots", the samples/story follows a girl, who with help from her mother, a friend, and a doctor, looks back on the time when she was put in a mental institute. It's about losing control over yourself. The band chose to consistently sample batches from the P1 documentary "Jag Skulle kunna vara USA:s president" [I would be able to be the USA’s president], in which Linda Boström discusses what it feels like to lose control of oneself, to be in psychiatric care, and to live with bipolar disorder. It is sometimes horrific listening, whether we can relate or not, and the feeling is reinforced when played in a cold and dark soundstage, during the longer ambient passages that partition metal, rock, and hardcore sections. Translated lyrics are included. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bitrate: ~700kBit/s Sharing Widget |
