Current line-up: Chris Garza - Guitar Mitch Lucker - Vocals Mike Bodkins - Bass Mark Heylmun - Guitar (ex-Nocturnal Symphony (US)) Alex Lopez - Drums (ex-The Funeral Pyre, ex-Blackheart Eulogy, ex-The Red Dawn) Debut album of the quite well-known deathcore band. They were around before deathcore became popular, and on their debut full-length they show their top-notch style most other bands in the genre would want to sound like. Nothing overly new or genre-defining, it's just plain deathcore (call it even generic if you want) but everything's taken to perfection. The sound is perfect, very tight and not lacking the strength it requires. The riffs are very good, they add alot of variety, they're hardly repetitive at all. I also gotta mention the breakdowns - they're immensely powerful. The music all over is diverse enough to keep your attention through the whole album. I don't think The Cleansing stands out of the crowd by being original, but by taking the aesthetics of the genre to perfection. http://www.suicidesilence.net/ http://www.myspace.com/suicidesilence Sharing Widget |
