Supernatural Season 8 Episode 21 The Great Escapest


NOW: Kevin (Osric Chau) wakes up in a boat covered in enchanted protections. He hears knocking and Dean (Jensen Ackles) calling for him to open up. Kevin checks to see if Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean are demons, and then lets them in. They tell him they've retrieved the other half of the tablet and Kevin can get to work discovering what the third trial is. They leave and Kevin gets to work. As S&D are walking they pass through a filmy wall and shift into teenage boys. The teenagers walk up to Crowley (Mark Sheppard) who is sitting in a makeshift production room. Crowley is "directing" the deception to get information from Kevin.

Dean brings Sam soup to convince him to eat something he hasn't done in days. Sam is getting sicker and they argue about his needing to rest, Sam is convinced the only way he'll get better is by completing the third trial. They are interrupted by and e-mail from Kevin. Kevin states that this was to be sent in the event of his death, along with the e-mail comes his notes and translations. Sam starts looking at the notes and he and Dean discuss how they are basically stuck at square one and are to blame for Kevin's death.

In Santa Fe, New Mexico we see Castiel (Misha Collins) sitting in a diner. He talks to the waitress but he isn't making any sense. His tale rumbles and he says "They're getting closer" and teleports off. Two men in matching suits are suddenly in the diner, look around and then are in Naomi's (Amanda Tapping) office. Naomi and one of the men discuss how Cass can't be caught.

D&S are looking at the notes and Sam recognizes one of the symbols, a Native American Perto-glyph. The symbol belonged to a clan in Colorado, a territorial marker translating to "Messenger of God." They decide to go try to find the Metatron Messenger of God to see if he knows anything since they don't have any other options. We flash back to Cass who comes upon a slaughter back at the diner and is captured by the two men.

D&S are in a casino in Route 34, Colorado. Dean checks in and Sam hears a strange chiming sound. Back to Cass, who is being threatened by Naomi to give up the angel tablet, he refuses. Again with S&D in Colorado where Sam is acting slightly delirious Dean Talks to a Native maerican and gets a clue from a potograph. He sees the hotel clerk in the photo which is quite old. At the casino Sam is not looking well, he follows the clerk and sees him with a package of books, Sam goes back to his room and passes out. Again with Cass we see he is still being tortured and is still refusing to give of the location of the angel tablet. Crowley comes in and shoots the two men and says hello to Naomi. In Colorado Sam wakes up in an ice bath, informed by Dean that he had a temp of 107. Sam tells Dean the metatron is here, he feels it, hes connected to it. Back with Crowley we see that he's kidnaps Castiel and reasons that Cass wouldn't ever let the tablet out of his sight. Crowley reaches into Cass's stoach and pulls the tablet out. Crowley's phone rings, it is the teenage boys who were tricked by Kevin into walking into a demon trap. S&D are heading to the metatron and Sam is remembering memories from when he was very little. They finally find the metatron and Sam continues to hear the chiming sound. Crowley goes to Kevin and asks how he saw ast fake S&D and Kevin tells him his demons were too polite. S&D fill metatron in on the whereabouts of his angelic brothers and metatron informs Sam the sound he hears is him reonating because of the trials. The metratron admits to hiding for all these years and he has no idea what's going on in the world, all he does is read. Sam and Dean are angry at his cowardice. Crowley tries to kill Kevin but Kevin is teleported to the metatron who brings him back to life. Kevin wakes up, hands the 2nd half of the tablet to Dean and tells him he didn't say anything to Crowley. The third trial is to Cure a Demon. Sam and Dean are driving discussing the third trial and all the sense it doesn't make when Dean slams on the brakes because Cass is lying in the middle of the road.
