Reach for the Sky was the album which spawned the Sutherland Brothers & Quiver's biggest hit, Arms of Mary. Also included are songs such as When The Train Comes and Dirty City which display the song-writing and musical talent of the group. The title track is a delightful tuneful song where the acoustic bass of Gavin Sutherland is highlighted. Ain't Too Proud seems to owe something to the Temptations number Ain't Too Proud to Beg. Dirty City is driven along by typical Sutherlands rhythm guitar. Throughout the sublime harmony of the vocals of Ian and Gavin Sutherland take one back to a time when rock music had hooks galore and could be danced to or just listened to.
