Description

Sweet Water is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. Originally known as S.G.M., the band's members met while students at The Bush School. The band lineup changed in 1990, and included Rich Credo, Adam Czeisler, Cole Peterson, Dudley Taft and Paul Uhlir. Garnering acclaim for their debut "Ter", the band was subsequently signed in 1992 by Jason Flom of Atlantic Records and released this self-tiled album produced by Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Dashboard Confessional, Lit, Pearl Jam) and mixed by Tim Palmer (Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, Tin Machine, Robert Plant.) The band were then signed to Elektra Records susidiary East-West, and they recorded a follow-up record "Superfriends" with Dave Jerden (Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction) producing. The band spent 2000-2006 on a self-imposed hiatus, releasing no new music and playing no shows. 2007 saw their return to the stage and a new album in the works.

Sweet Water will begin touring with Stone Temple Pilots later in 2008

Anyone from the Pacific Northwest has undoubtedly heard Sweet Water on the radio during the early/mid 90's and were probably quite impressed with what they heard. Yet another band swept under the rug called Grunge, Sweet Water were and still are a hard rocking band with the only remote connection they had with grunge was that they hailed from the same town. Such a shame that Atlantic Record label didn't give them the exposure they deserved, this is a band that was hugely popular in Seattle but couldn't break out and gain much mainstream success. Saw them several times at local clubs, the Bumbershoot festival, the Pain In The Grass series under the Space Needle, and they never failed to deliver. Don't miss out on this one!
