“The Warrior” introduces three men who might be Tarzan, but none of them ruling the jungle. The likeliest candidate lives in Baltimore, locates dimensional rifts in the company of his wife Jane, and takes over tribes of ape-men. The plot is slim, but the mystery drags it along to the final issue, which establishes Tarzan in 20th-century USA. The science-fiction elements in “The Warrior” are intrusive, but it succeeds in retrieving Tarzan from cinema and TV clichés.
