Telemann Matthaeus-Passion (1746) La Stravaganza Koeln, U Stotzel 2CDs (Size: 308.09 MB)
Description
This is probably the best of the many Passion settings by Telemann. He had a very high opinion on this work since he adopted a new way with the Recitatives that was influenced by the French rather than the traditional German way of delivering the Evangelical text. Telemann goes in this work as far as interrupting the B section of Petrus\' Aria (No.5) with a Recitative for the Evangelist and the Chorus and then continues with a repeat of the A section of the Aria. rnrnGEORG PHILIPP TELEMANN (1681-1767) rnrnMATTHÄUS PASSION (1746) rnrnBarbara Schlick, Sopran rnClaudia Schubert, Alt rnWilfried Jochens, Tenor (Evangelist) rnStefan Dörr, Tenor (Petrus, Caiaphas) rnAchim Rück, Bass (Christus) rnHans-Georg Wimmer, Bass (Pilatus) rnrnCollegium Vocale des Bach-Chores Siegen rnBarock-Orchester "La Stravabganza Köln" rnULRICH STÖTZEL rnrnCovers and booklet with text in PDF
