Players such as Johnny Winter, Freddie King, Lightnin' Hopkins, T Bone Walker and Little Joe Blue resonate through his guitar playing. But perhars his biggest influence is his close friend and pianist Alex Moore, who first recorded in 1929 for Paramount Records. Moore christened him Texas Slim back in 1982.
