He has opened for numerous legends, including Johnny Winter, Blue Oyster Cult, Bobbie Blue Bland, The Blues Brothers, Savoy Brown, Little Joe Blue, Etta James, even The Spin Doctors, and Molly Hatchet to name a few. Texas Slim has been playing to capacity crowds in clubs and festivals throughout the US, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Canada with the likes. of EC Scoff, Sonny Rhodes, and RJ Mischo. Texas Slim was the second artist to ever play The Hard Rock Cafe (James Brown being the first). When one hears Texas Slim, the direct lineage to the Lone Star State's greatest blues musicians is evident. Players such as Johnny Winter, Freddie King, Lightnin' Hopkins, T Bone Walker and Little Joe Blue resonate through his guitar playing. But perhars his biggest influence is his close friend and pianist Alex Moore, who first recorded in 1929 for Paramount Records. Moore christened him Texas Slim back in 1982. In addition to touring internationally under his own name, Slim has also toured extensively with Cold Blue Steel, Randy McAlister, EC Scoffand and Wanda King. With more tours nationally and internationally on the horizon, he will be in Italy in the Fall of 2014. He, some five days later went into the studio to record this album for your delight and delectation. An album that will yet again dazzle, impress and amaze all who hear this hard hitting no-nonsense deadly, earthy, blasting Texan guitarslinger. To maintain the intensity of feeling and to hold onto that grooving, cruising vibe, the whole album was recorded in three days; twelve of the numbers were set down in two days on the fifthteenth and sixteenth of March two thousand and eleven at the Vox studios, Italy; the remaining three numbers were recorded on the tenth of May two thousand and eleven at Audio, Dallas, Texas. The musicians joining T.S. on the Italian sessions were as on the live album that being; the rock solid powerhouse combination of Martin Iotti; bass, Lele Zamperini; drums and Max Lugli lovingly blasting away on the harmonica.
